BRONZI DI RIACE

The Bronzi di Riace (Riace Bronzes), considered one of the most significant examples of classical Greek art, are two bronze statues probably dating from the middle of the 5th century BC. It has been assumed that the Bronzes were thrown into the sea during a storm to lighten the ship carrying them, or that the ship itself sank with the statues. The statues are now on display at the Archaeological Museum of Reggio Calabria, Southern Italy. The Bronzes were found in 1972, in an exceptional state of preservation, at the bottom of the Ionian Sea, near the town of Riace Marina.

The bronze sculptures we propose are faithful scale reproductions of the originals.
